How to Check Furniture Quality Before Buying in Pakistan

Furniture quality cannot be judged from a polished front photograph alone. A useful comparison looks at the frame, joints, dimensions, upholstery, finish and the details written on the order. This checklist is designed for beds, sofas, dining sets and other large home furniture in Pakistan.

1. Ask what each part is made from

Do not stop at a general label such as ‘wooden furniture’. Ask which material is used in the visible frame, internal upholstered frame, panels, drawer bottoms and backs. A design can use more than one material for different parts, so the answer should relate to the exact product you are buying.

2. Inspect joints and hidden surfaces

• Look underneath tables, inside drawers and behind removable cushions instead of inspecting only the polished face.
• Check whether joints sit square and firmly without visible gaps, movement or rough unfinished edges.
• Open drawers and doors several times to check alignment, runners, hinges and handles.
• For carved furniture, look for consistent detail and a finish that does not bury the carving.

3. Measure the furniture and the route into the room

Measure the complete product, not only a mattress, tabletop or seat count. Also measure the main door, staircase, lift and turns along the delivery route. This is especially important for tall headboards, complete dressing units, wardrobes and long L-shaped sofa sections.

4. Compare sofa foam and fabric for daily use

Sit on the sofa long enough to judge support rather than testing it for a few seconds. Ask about the foam used in the seat and back, and choose fabric for the home's real conditions: children, direct sunlight, frequent guests, cleaning and everyday wear.

5. Read exactly what the price includes

• Every included piece and its dimensions
• Frame, panels, polish, upholstery, foam and hardware
• Changes requested from the displayed design
• Final price and payment stages
• Expected completion, delivery, assembly and destination charges
